I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to charge for my services. Here is my philosophy... I do not want to be the "cheapest guy in town", not do I want to seem unreasonable expensive. The reality is, some people can afford my services and others cannot. But whether or not you can afford my services is irrelevant if you are not getting value for your dollar. This is where I try to separate myself. In the end I want you to be happy with the services I provide and the cost for those services. My reputation means everything to me and I want to earn your business as well as your recommendations.
However, if the cost is your only hesitation then lets discuss it. For those that are truly in need of the services I can provide but are unable to bear the cost, I will work with you. I have made it a mission to set aside the first Wednesday of each month to help those in need with jobs that they just cannot afford to get done. It's called "Pay what you can Wednesday". In order to get on that list, simply email me with details of the work you need and the situation.
Because of the uniqueness of what I do and the demand out there I have decided that I will try to help clients though out Virginia. I am based out of Dinwiddie off of 460, close to where I-95 and I-85 come together. This makes my location ideal for traveling to many areas in the state. I do charge a milage or "trip" charge for customers further then 25 miles from my location. All of that is explained below and is very easy to calculate.
These rates are for general help around your property. No tools or materials are required or provided.

There is an additional cost to bring equipment to a job site to help cover additional fuel costs, trailering, time spent loading and rigging equipment, etc. The cost below is per day and is in addition to the cost of work performed.

My goal when I started this business is to be available to anyone in Virginia that needs my services, specifically clients with barns and farms. In order to do that I have to charge a milage or "trip charge" to help offset the additional costs incurred when traveling to clients at further distances.
There is NO CHARGE for clients within 25 miles of Dinwiddie, Virginia 23850. Locations further than 25 miles will have an additional milage charge of $1.20 per mile after the first 25 miles. The mileage is only calculated and charged on the distance to the client, not both directions. By charging for mileage, it allows me to provide services clients regardless of distance. Cost of tolls, if any, are not included.
Examples:
Distance from Ford, VA 23850 to Blackstone, VA 23824 is 19 miles. There is no additional milage charge for that customer.
Distance from Ford, VA 23850 to Goochland, VA 23063 is 47 miles. The customer would be charged for 22 miles (47 miles – 25 free miles = 22 miles). The additional cost for that customer is $26.40.
To figure out your distance, use any map app like Google Maps and enter Ford, VA 23850 as the starting point and your address and the destination. You may be given several routes; choose the one with the least amount of miles. Then deduct 25 (for the first 25 miles being free) then multiply that by 1.20. That will give you the trip charge.
